Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of FBCT is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. FBCT members are involved in a variety of ministries here is a broad list (which will continue to expand as we grow):

Mission Outreach

Our church is passionate about mission!  Locally and globally our continually evolving strategy employs getting the Gospel out in everything we do!  We tithe off of our weekly offerings that send and support missionaries all over the world!  We partner with ministries locally and globally in this quest.  At FBCT, we have been sending out mission teams in the US and abroad for years.  Please pray for us as we develop a Mission Team and continue fulfilling the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20).  Where is God calling you to take the Gospel?

Musical Worship Team

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Contact our Worship/Arts Minister, Gerard Lavergne at 225-245-4923 or gplavergne@yahoo.com if you are interested in plugging into this incredible ministry!

Connect Team

The Connect Team at FBCT fills an important role. They are involved in directing guests, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. This team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to connecting people to God and one another.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of FBCT. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. As we grow we are looking for people to serve in art, video, internet, audio/visual, and much more!

Ministry Teams

FBC Thibodaux is not a place for religiously perfect people looking to “go to church”.  We are a family. We are a team.  Whether you are a child, a busy college student, an eighty year old grandmother, an overwhelmed mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part and on mission with our church and community. Here are a few ways you can learn, serve, and grow at FBC as we continue to grow.

Small Group

We believe that our church must grow larger and smaller at the same time.  We have small group bible studies for all ages on Sunday mornings.  Part of our strategy over the next year is to launch Community Groups in our members homes all across our area.  Now is the perfect time for you to connect and be a part of something greater than ourselves!

If you would like to get involved in a small group of someway please call the church office and let us know!

Children’s Ministry (Including Nursery)

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes (small groups) as well as a worship environment (service) where they learn the Word of God, community and service through various ways (Bible study, music, art, and participation).

If you would like to get involved with Children’s Ministry please contact the church office.  If you are interested in Nursery please contact our office at 985-446-5611..

Collegiate Ministry

Existing in a college town (Nicholls State University) as a church we are deeply committed to loving, ministering and discipling college students for ministry now and for the future.  We are directly connected to the BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministry) at NSU, and we employ students directly into ministry at FBC such as:
  • Sunday 9:30 – Student Breakfast/Bible Study
  • Opportunities to serve in: Nursery/Children/Student Ministries, Media, Music, Mission, etc
  • Events – Mission projects/trips, conferences, concerts, etc.
